Košljun

Košljun was once a harbour for the town of Pag, located on the western side of the island. The old pier and the lighthouse are the remaining relics of the past. Many passengers reached the island of Pag or left it precisely through the port in Košljun. A horse-drawn carriage ran between Košljun and Pag. Today, Košljun is a small quiet settlement composed mainly of guest houses. Only a few inhabitants spend the entire year there. The old road between Košljun and Pag is mostly used by strollers.

Although the island of Pag is barren and in places resembles a moonscape, visitors to Košljun do not have to do without shade. They can both spend their time on the beach in full sun and relax in the shade of 100-year-old stone pines.

There is a small grocery in Košljun. During the peak season there is also a kiosk with a terrace where ice cream, beer and other drinks as well as bread are sold. In summer, a van with regional fresh fruit and vegetables comes to Košljun every day. The nearby towns of Pag and Novalja offer the possibility of doing bigger shopping or going to a restaurant.
